Squad 2, Engine 14 and Chief 1 arrived to find heavy light-colored smoke and flames coming from the roof of a single-story building attached to a much larger masonry structure. Engine 18 supplied Engine 5 with water for their four-inch line to Ladder 18 and also supplied Engine 14 with a 2-1/2" line. Engine 18 also laid their own 2-1/2" line to the fire. Lines from Engine 14, Squad 2 and Engine 5 quickly knocked down the fire. Ladder 18 performed a primary search. Engine 18 performed a secondary search. All companies were withdrawn from the structure and Ladder 18 washed the roof with its master stream. Second alarm companies staged, but were not used. Damage to the building was estimated at $60,000 and companies remained on the scene until 0734 hours. |

First-arriving Ladder 18 reported smoke coming from a building and when they kicked in the front door they encountered heavy smoke and reported a basement fire. Upon checking the first floor walls they found fire in the walls. Engine 5 took a preconnect line into the basement. Ladder 18 attacked the fire with a line and Squad 3 did a preliminary search and laid a backup up line to the 1st floor. Engine 8 took a backup line into the basement. Engine 14 did a secondary search. Water supply was laid to Engine 5 and Squad 3. Ladder 18 raised its aerial to the roof and Ladder 22 cut a ventilation hole in the roof. When fire was found on the 2nd floor, Ladder 18 advanced their line and knocked down the fire there. Second alarm crews replaced 1st alarm crews. Two firefighters with minor injuries were treated by Medic 22. Damage was estimated at $120,000 and crews remained on the scene until 1346 hours. |

Engine 22 and Ladder 22 arrived on the scene and assisted police officers with the rescue of a wheelchair victim from Unit 211 of a three-story sprinklered apartment building. Chief 2 received a report from Ladder 22 on arrival, assumed command and requested a second alarm. Engine 22 found a small fire in the bedroom with sprinklers activated. Engine 22 knocked down the remainder of the fire with a light-water extinguisher while Engine 8 backed them up. Ladder 22 and Engine 5 evacuated nearby building occupants. Squad 3 checked extension to the 3rd floor and found none. Ladder 22 completed primary and secondary searches. Squad 2 and Ladder 8 were RIT companies. Medic 17 assisted building residents. Ladder 18 and Squad 1 shut down the sprinklers. Engines 5 & 8 and Ladders 8 & 18 performed overhaul. Damage was estimated at $40,000 and all companies left the scene by 0125 hours. |

Engines 8 and 24 pulled attack lines to the third floor for a fire involving Apartment 303. Ladder 24 and Squad 1 did a primary search on the third floor. Engine 7 laid a backup line to the third floor and water supply from two sources. Squad 2 and Engine 17 did a primary search of second floor units. Chief 2 was Safety Officer and assisted with occupants. Damage was estimated at at $200,000 and crews remained on the scene until 1939 hours. |

This was the second fire reported at this address in a 20-hour period. Companies arrived to find fire in the attic. Engine 7 took a preconnect line to the first floor front while Squad 1 took the rear and laid a preconnect line. Engine 24 laid a supply line to Engine 7 and a backup line to Engine 7. Ladder 7 raised their aerial to the front of the building. Ladder 7 assisted Engine 7 by opening up the roof for Engine 7's crew and their TeleSqurt. Ladder 7 also assisted with exposure problems on side D. Engine 4 laid a supply line into Engine 24 who supplied water for them to take over the side D exposure. Engine 9 laid a reverse supply line into Squad 1 to supply them. Engine 8 obtained a supply line from Engine 4 and assisted with exposure problems on side D. Crews were pulled out of the building for a defensive knockdown before going back into the building to extinguish hot spots. Chief 2 was the Safety Officer and Medic 17 stood by. All companies assisted in overhaul and the last company returned at 0541 hours. Damage was estimated at $110,000. |

Companies arrived to find an exterior fire in the rear of the structure on the first floor. The fire was well into the walls and structural framing and eventually all crews were pulled out of the building. A massive defensive effort was made to keep the fire from extending to adjacent buildings. Crews remained on the scene until 0504 hours and then returned in the late morning hours to standby during building demolition. Crews finally left the scene at 1311 hours. Damage was estimated at $750,000 to the commercial units and four apartment units. |
