On May 11, 1977 a major fire struck two large grain elevators located on the Minneapolis - St. Louis Park city border at West 31 Street and Glenwood. The alarms are for the address of 31st Street and Ewing but the fire location was actually in St. Louis Park on Glenwood. The complex was two large (10 story eqivilent) wood frame grain elevaotors. Elevator A was well involved from the start of the fire and communicated two its patner Elevator B soon after the arrival of companies at the scene. This fire was fought by both Minneapolis and suburban departments.
