The Maple Grove, Minnesota Fire Department

On Saturday April 12, 2003, EAA members John Degenhardt, Paul Barrett and Jack Mersereau traveled out to Maple Grove to photograph apparatus. Thanks to the firefighters we were able to photograph nearly the entire department.

Here is some background on the Maple Grove Fire Department. The Department currently has four stations, with the fifth in the construction process. Station 5 will be built near Bass Lake Road and Lawndale in the southwestern area of the city.

The department has 86 members with a paid Chief and two paid Assistant Chief's for a city of 36 square miles and a population of nearly 60000 people. Initial EMS response is provided by Police First Responders with North Memorial Ambulance providing ALS service. The department responds to all fire, rescue, and hazmat calls.
